1970s Bop Bag!

batman_70bopbag

I have to confess, I've never understood the idea of bop bags. They always seem to be made with the lead character of a tv show, comic, or cartoon, and never the bad guys! I mean, a Joker, Penguin or Riddler bop bag would make sense... but not Batman! You're not supposed to want to beat up Batman!

1970s Argentina Tattoos!

batman_70argentinatattoo.jpg

One thing I've definitely learned while saving photos for my various blogs is that Argentina was nuts for super-heroes! I have come across so many cool (and some not so cool) items exclusive to Argentina!

1966 Swoops Down Figure!

batman_66swoopsdownfig

No idea who made this, or even if "Swoops Down Figure" is the correct name for it!

1966 Stickers!

batman_66stickers1.JPG
batman_66stickers2.JPG

Stickers... or temporary tattoos? Well, the seller said they were stickers!

1966 Skates!

batman_66skates.JPG

Well, I must say, they really committed to making these Batman-themed skates, eh?

1966 Puffy Stickers!

batman_66puffystickers

While Batman is headlining these, I have to admit that I like all the other characters showing up here, too!

I also have to admit I had no idea puffy stickers went back that far!

1966 Batman Pins!

batman_66pewterpin.jpg

That's a nice pewter pin there!

1966 Rolykin!

batman_66rolykin

Produced by Marx Toys, this was one of the strangest Batman toys I've ever seen!

1966 Periscope!

batman_66periscope.JPG

Kind of an odd item for a Batman toy, but then, who am I to judge?

Batman Nightlight!

batman_66nightlight

The seller said this was a 1966 item, but I'm pretty sure they were mistaken. I like it!

batman_78nitelite

Here it is in the package, and this seller knew it was from 1978!

1966 Batman Mugs!

batman_66mug1
batman_66mug2

I can only guess that DC provided licensors with both pre-New Look and post-New Look artwork!

1966 Marx Bat-Phone!

batman_66marxbatphone

Pretty cool item there! Wish they made one today (even if I don't use a landline)...

1966 Batman Marionette!

batman_66marionette.jpg

I always thought this looked pretty disturbing...

1966 Batman Keychains!

These appear to be Dutch versions of the same keychains!

I'm just guessing these were vending machine items!

1966 Joker Hanging!

batman_66jokerhanging

Nice use of vintage artwork here... I think something like this would have even more appeal today than it would've in 1966, when the style was just out of date!

Fun Things Batman and Robin Danglers from 1966!

batman_66funthingsbatman

"He looks and feels alive"? Really? I kind of doubt that, unless Batman really feels like rubber.

batman_66funthingsrobin

Well, maybe they were made of plastic, with the elastic string being the only stretchy part...

1966 Batman Freeze Ray Gun!

batman_66freezegun

Sure, didn't you know Batman had a freeze ray gun? Oh, yeah, you probably thought it was Mr. Zero/Mr. Freeze who used the freeze ray gun, didn't you. After all, that's what it says in the comics. But this toy manufacturer obviously knew different!

Corgi Batmobile Sign from 1966!

batman_66corgibatmobiledisp.jpg

This sign must've caused a lot of kids' hearts to leap with joy when they saw it... assuming the store hadn't sold out of Batmobiles by then!

1966 Unbreakable Combs!

batman_66combs.JPG

Yes, in 1966, they'd slap a Batman label on damn near anything.

1966 Chemtoy Figure!

batman_66chemtoy

Chemtoy is probably best known for their "movie viewers" that were sold at places like Kresge, Kmart and Woolworths... but they did some plastic figurines, too!

1966 Vending Machine Charms!

batman_66charms

I know there's a few people desperately trying to get a complete set of these!

1966 Centerpiece!

1966 Batman Candy Sticks box!

batman_66candystickbox.jpg

When I was a kid, these candy sticks were just called candy cigarettes... but they're back to "candy sticks" these days!

1966 Batman 3-Ring Binder!

batman_66binder1.jpg
batman_66binder2.jpg

I have to admit, this is kind of cool!

1966 Bike Ornament!

batman_66bikeornament.jpg

As would happen in the mid-1970s or so (when superheroes were hot), the success of the Batman tv show caused many toy manufacturers to snap up licensing for just about any product imaginable! Who would've thought to produce a toy like this one, a plastic Batman on a spring you'd attach to a bicycle?
