Knock-Off Costume!

batman_knockoffcostume2.jpg

I guess this must've been much cheaper than the officially licensed Ben Cooper costumes!

Child's Costume!

batman_clothcost

Here's the "classic" Ben Cooper playsuit costume, put on a mannequin! Here's what the Halloween costume looked like in the box, you can see the differences:, at least in the mask!

batman_coopercostbox

batman_coopercostope

They made a "tiny tot" version, too!

Here's yet another variation from 1982!

And another, from 1989!.

Masks!

Today is the first of a two-part Halloween-themed edition of the Batcave Trophy Room! Tomorrow I'll present a bunch of Batman costumes for the kids, but we're leading off today with these Batman masks and mask-like items!

batman_hatmask.JPG

It's a hat! It's a mask! It's a hat and a mask!

batman_helmet

This helmet-style mask was very popular back in the day, and something many collectors would love to have these days!

batman_helmetbox

Lucky collectors have the package and the cape, too!

batman_helmet.JPG

Just for the heck of it, here's a Batman motorcycle helmet! Well, a play helmet, anyway.

So, apparently GE did some kind of Batman promotion that led to the production of these masks...

batman_gebatmask1.jpg

batman_gebatmask2.jpg

I'll never understand why people think that Batman needs a logo on his mask!

Ideal Paratrooper!

batman_idealparatrooper.JPG

Ideal may have nailed it with their utility belt, but AHI far outstripped them when it came to a Batman parachuting figure!

Ideal Utility Belt!

batman_ideal66utilitybelt.jpg

Ideal's 1966 Batman Utility Belt was far and away much more superior to what Remco came out with in the 1970s! This set the bar high for future utility belt toys that was never, in my opinion, met again! Consider this a preview of sorts for tomorrow and the next day's costume-related postings!

This photo gives you a little better view of the contents!

House Slippers!

batman_houseslippers1
batman_houseslippers2

Yes, two different sets of Batman House Slippers! Just the thing to wear with your jammies and bathrobe when you get up on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons and eat sugary cereal...

Hook Rugs!

batman_hookrugs

I'm sure these looked cooler than this on the box art.

Marx Toys Hand Puppets!

batman_handpuppets

These popular hand puppets inspired one person to create more puppets in this style, which you'll be seeing here in the future!

batman_idealpuppet

And here's what the puppet looked like in the package!

1967 Batman Movie Half-Sheet Poster!

batman_halfsheet

Another entry in the "Department of Items I Wish I Had Better Photos Of," this is a pretty cool-looking poster!

Golden Records Batman Club!

batman_goldenrecordsclub

I wish I had photos of all these items to share with you! Heck, I wish I had a larger photo of the jacket to show you!

Gold Batmobile!

batman_goldbatmobile.JPG

Why a gold Batmobile? Beats the heck out of me... I guess it's for those times when the Caped Crusader really wants to make an impact when he arrives on the scene.

Gloves!

batman_gloves

I guess the manufacturer didn't figure they'd be recognizable as Batman gloves without a Bat insingia on them... because the fins on the gauntlets aren't recognizable as Batman's gloves at all...

Batman Glasses!

batman_glass1

batman_glasses1966.JPG

I love these old Batman glasses... I wish they still made these today, at an affordable price!

Avon Hair Brush!

batman_hairbrushavon.JPG

This is a pretty nice looking piece, a figural hair brush! It's a nice companion to the Avon Batmobile bubble bath, too!

Batman GIve-A-Show Projector by Chad Valley!

batman_giveashow1

OK, so last month, I showed you a photo of this item above, and mentioned I'd love to have it in my Give-A-Show collection...

batman_giveashow4
batman_giveashow5

While I still don't have one (at least, as of this writing), the photos above will kind of give you an idea of what it's like! I never quite understood why, instead of doing 16 stories of 7 panels each, they didn't, say, do 8 stories of 14 panels, or better yet, 4 stories of 28 panels!

batman_giveashowslides.JPG

These were also available separately in four-packs of the slides!

Girls' Wallet!

batman_girlswallet

Not sure why they made a Batman girls' wallet... I mean, I would've thought they figured Batgirl would be a more likely candidate, but then, I'm not in licensing...

Gilbert Watch!

batman_gilbertwatch

This is one nice-looking Batman watch!

German 1967 Batman Movie Poster!

batman_german.JPG

Pretty funky, eh?

Batman "Honeymoon Train" from Japan!

batman_honeymoontrainjapan.jpg

A popular tin toy was Marx's "Honeymoon Train," which was reimagined as a Superman tin toy (with flying Superman) in the USA... and in Japan, Batman got the "Honeymoon Train" treatment!

Argentina Bat-Frisbee!

batman_frisbeeargentina.jpg

Not a bad item here... I somehow doubt that it's an officially-licensed Frisbee, though!

Friction Gun!

batman_frictiongun

I think I've posted a photo of this on the card before... but here's a better look at the toy!
