Three of these books feature reprints of comics stories... the top left, and the bottom left and center. The top center one and the top right one are a puzzle to me... I used to have the top center one, and I could swear it was an adaptation of the 1967 movie, but the top right one seems to be the adaptation! Perhaps the top center one was all original.
I've never read the letters to Batman book... if it's anything like the "funniest letters to the Tonight Show" book I started reading once, it's not that funny.
This one-shot magazine (which I believe was produced by Warren) is highly desired amongst collectors. I recall seeing it advertised in the back of Famous Monsters of Filmland quite often!
You'll see those napkins again in the post below this... that kite, on the other hand... that does not look familiar to me at all, and could well be an 80s item.
The pennant, on the other hand, looks like pure 1966 to me! It almost looks like the seller of this lot had two of 'em! Not sure how it's supposed to be displayed, other than by putting tacks through it!
Yeah, it's obviously supposed to be Batman, isn't it? Amazing that the manufacturer of this figured that molding the figure in green would keep them safe!
I believe the same seller was offering both these pieces... nice to see them framed, although the flash glare doesn't make it easy to enjoy viewing these!
Now, I've got to assume that most - if not all - of these Mexican Batman items are bootleged, non-licensed items... because I can't see any other reason for this style of Batplane to be manufactured!
Now, you'd think that Mexico, home of the masked wrestlers, would do a pretty decent job of manufacturing Batman and Robin masks... and apparently, you'd be wrong!
Note how the card distinctly says "toy watch," so you don't think it keeps time that well enough to use as a real watch. Here's some better views of the watch itself:
The daily blog featuring photos of Batman-related merchandise going up through the 1970s, with a few 1980s items thrown in here and there! Your comments are welcomed!
Please note that I do not have any of these items for sale, and the vast majority of them are items I do not own at all. The photos were collected from eBay auctions over the years, and I wanted to share them with you all!
If you're interested in tracking down any of these items, I wish you luck, and hope that these posts help give you the information you need to find them offered on eBay! If you do purchase any of these items as a result of these posts, I'd love to hear about them -- and if you have better photos of anything I post here, I'd love to see them, too, and share them with my readers! You can email photos to me at waffyjon at comcast dot net. And if you link to a Batcave Trophy Room post, please let me know, and I'll add your blog to the blogroll!
