Nick Cardy did some of the best covers on DC's 1970s books, and this is a classic! It's the cover to The Brave and the Bold #98!

First item I have today is page 5 from Batman Family #19, by Michael Golden!



Next up is page 16 from Batman Family #12, by Marshall Rogers! Man-Bat here was introduced in the 1970s -- you're probably familiar with him if you saw Batman: the Animated Series at least!



This last page today is page 8 from the DC/Marvel Comics co-production team-up book in which Batman met the Incredible Hulk! As you can see from this page, the Joker was along for the ride!

Vending Machine Buttons and Original Art!

What you're looking at here is the original art for the cover of Batman Family #14, drawn by Jim Aparo. I don't have nearly enough Aparo art in my photo files!



Here's page 70 from Batman Family 19, by Joe Staton! Page 70? Yes, because Batman Family was a Dollar Comic (which was a bit more expensive than the average book back then), extra-thick! The character you see there is the Huntress, the daughter of Batman. Well, the Batman of Earth-2, anyway (if you're not up on DC Comics' multiple earths, it's difficult to explain).

Coloring Book, Mexican Lobby Cards,

First item today is the Zap! Crunch! Coloring book! That's Eclipso on the cover, by the way... there was an issue of Brave and the Bold in which Eclipso appeared with Batman, but I think that was it for the 1960s!

Sticker Fun Book and Yo-Yos!

I recognize the cover art for this sticker book -- I believe that the Bat-Blog used it as the basis for some wallpaper back in February of 2009!



Does seeing this Batman yo-yo, complete with DC Style Guide art of Batman throwing the yo-yo (well adapted to that function), make anyone else laugh?
