Original Comic Art!

brave and the bold by carmine infantino

Batman's barely on this page, which is from The Brave and the Bold #190, by Carmine Infantino!

bravebold092_27_cardy.jpg

Here's another Brave & The Bold page, it's page 27 from issue 92, by Nick Cardy!

bravebold116_cov_aparo.jpg

And our third item is the cover for Brave and the Bold #116, by Jim Aparo!

Bendies!

Let's look at the Batman-related Mego bendies -- or as they called the line, "Bend-N-Flex"!

bendy_batgirl_loose.JPG

Here's a loose Batgirl!

bendy_batman.jpg

Batman on the card!

bendy_batrobinjoker.JPG

A loose trio of Batman, Robin and the Joker!

bendy_catwoman.JPG

Catwoman on the card!

bendy_megoset3.JPG

The three male Bat-villains in the Bend-N-Flex are here loose!

bendy_penguincard

A carded Penguin!

bendy_penguincard2

Here's the back of the Penguin's card!

bendy_robin.jpg

And here's a carded Robin! I wish I had carded Batgirl, Joker and Riddler figures to show, but those just aren't in my files!

Original Comic Art!

bb166_19_giordano.jpg

Here's page 19 from The Brave and the Bold #166! The babe tied up is the Black Canary, the villain is the Penguin, and the artist is Dick Giordano!

bb98_cov_cardy.JPG

Nick Cardy did some of the best covers on DC's 1970s books, and this is a classic! It's the cover to The Brave and the Bold #98!

Tomorrow: Bendies!

Batmobiles!

Here's a selection of Batmobile toys!

batmobilecorgi

Corgi's Batmobile is probably THE classic Batmobile toy!

batmobiles_simms

Here's some loose Simms Batmobiles (remember, I showed you one in the box yesterday). I have one of these!

batrman_bookcover

This bookcover does indeed have a Batmobile on it, if you look carefully!

Pencil Sharpener and Batmobile!

batmansharp

This nifty semi-figural pencil sharpener was part of a huge line of Super Friends pencil sharpeners!

batmobile1

Any excuse to post a photo of the 1966 Batmobile...

batmobile_simms.JPG

A classic Simms Batmobile here! More Batmobiles tomorrow, I'm sure!

Lunchbox, Aurora Models and Serial Lobby Card!

batmanlunchbox

Someday, I must get a better photo of this item in my files!

batmanmodels

I know I have sharper photos of all of these Aurora kits in my files, they'll come up if they haven't already!

batmanserial

It's been a while since I've seen the first Batman serial, but I don't recall him using some kind of ray gun...

Super Powers Batman Coloring Book!

dcsh_sp_batmancoloring

Original Art!

batmanfam19_pg5_golden.jpg

First item I have today is page 5 from Batman Family #19, by Michael Golden!

BatmanFamily12_16_rogers.jpg

Next up is page 16 from Batman Family #12, by Marshall Rogers! Man-Bat here was introduced in the 1970s -- you're probably familiar with him if you saw Batman: the Animated Series at least!

batmanhulk_08_lopez

This last page today is page 8 from the DC/Marvel Comics co-production team-up book in which Batman met the Incredible Hulk! As you can see from this page, the Joker was along for the ride!

Vending Machine Buttons and Original Art!

batmanbuttons

Here's a header card with a set of vending machine buttons from the 1960s!

batmanfam14_cov_aparo.JPG

What you're looking at here is the original art for the cover of Batman Family #14, drawn by Jim Aparo. I don't have nearly enough Aparo art in my photo files!

batmanfam19_70_staton

Here's page 70 from Batman Family 19, by Joe Staton! Page 70? Yes, because Batman Family was a Dollar Comic (which was a bit more expensive than the average book back then), extra-thick! The character you see there is the Huntress, the daughter of Batman. Well, the Batman of Earth-2, anyway (if you're not up on DC Comics' multiple earths, it's difficult to explain).

Coloring Book, Mexican Lobby Cards,

batman_zapcrunch_coloring

First item today is the Zap! Crunch! Coloring book! That's Eclipso on the cover, by the way... there was an issue of Brave and the Bold in which Eclipso appeared with Batman, but I think that was it for the 1960s!

batmanandrobin_mexlc.jpg

Here's a Mexican lobby card for the serial "Batman and Robin"! And here's a few stills from that serial!

Sticker Fun Book and Yo-Yos!

batman_wrobinsticker

I recognize the cover art for this sticker book -- I believe that the Bat-Blog used it as the basis for some wallpaper back in February of 2009!

batman_yoyo

Does seeing this Batman yo-yo, complete with DC Style Guide art of Batman throwing the yo-yo (well adapted to that function), make anyone else laugh?

batman_yoyo.JPG
batman_yoyo1.jpg
batman_yoyo2.jpg

And there's some other Batman yo-yos!
