I'm inclined to believe that Marx Toys had this product already set to go when they got the Batman license, so they merely modeled a Batman figure of sorts to go atop it!
Batmania is probably the most well-known Batman fanzine of all time! It would be nice if someone, like Twomorrows, did some kind of trade paperback collection of articles from it!
This tin toy must've been made before the TV series... I mean, Jaguars are cool sportscars, but they can't hold a candle to the 1966 Batmobile, can they?
Another in the series of pictures I wish I had larger versions of! I'm guessing the grey of Batman's costume was rendered red on this photo because that's how it was colored in Italian editions of Batman comics!
Yes, there was Batman ice cream. I'm not sure how it was decided that bananas and marshmallows in vanilla ice cream was a Batman flavor... I'd have thought that perhaps vanilla ice cream with a bunch of little chocolate bats would've been more like it...
I remember these... I had the Shazam! one, and my sister had the Wonder Woman one (although these days, I have my sister's WW book, and the Shazam! one is lost forever...). As promised, it's a giant (tabloid-sized) comic book to color!
Now, that's pretty cool... I'd definitely buy one of these if I saw one when I visit Germany (not that I have plans to visit Germany at the present time...).
Now, if this looked like any existing Bat-Boat, it would be cooler... apparently, it was filled with candy, probably sold at convenience stores and the like. The Mexican Batman Candy containers got even weirder, though...
I'm guessing this was made by the same "Lincoln" company known for their monster figures. Anyway, this isn't a bad-looking Batplane, although I have to think they just molded an existing airplane toy in black and added stickers!
Think you've seen all the Batplane toys that are out there? I'm betting I've got others you haven't!
I never quite understood why Tyco licensed the DC characters to make train cars with them featured on the sides... it just doesn't quite jibe with me, y'know?
The daily blog featuring photos of Batman-related merchandise going up through the 1970s, with a few 1980s items thrown in here and there! Your comments are welcomed!
Please note that I do not have any of these items for sale, and the vast majority of them are items I do not own at all. The photos were collected from eBay auctions over the years, and I wanted to share them with you all!
If you're interested in tracking down any of these items, I wish you luck, and hope that these posts help give you the information you need to find them offered on eBay! If you do purchase any of these items as a result of these posts, I'd love to hear about them -- and if you have better photos of anything I post here, I'd love to see them, too, and share them with my readers! You can email photos to me at waffyjon at comcast dot net. And if you link to a Batcave Trophy Room post, please let me know, and I'll add your blog to the blogroll!
